Who’s Behind the Camera?

About Me

G’day, I’m Luis!
I’m a travel and aviation photography enthusiast from Switzerland. I recently graduated as a Multimedia Designer before moving to Australia for half a year. My passion for aviation began when I was a kid. I still remember standing by the runway for the first time, completely mesmerised by the roar of jet engines as a massive aircraft lifted into the sky. That moment sparked an obsession — ever since, I’ve been watching Airbus and Boeing jets take off and land, always looking up whenever I hear one overhead.

One day, I brought my camera to the airport — and that’s where my journey into photography began. Capturing the power, elegance, and sheer scale of these machines through my lens quickly became more than just a hobby; it became a way to preserve aviation history –

From the very start, I’ve saved nearly every photo I’ve taken. Soon, a friend of mine inspired me with his own folder system, where each aircraft registration has its own folder — and I decided to build one myself. Over time, my archive has grown to include more than 4,500 registrations. Maintaining this archive has become one of the most meaningful parts of my passion. Each photo is more than an image — it’s a piece of aviation history, frozen in time as the skies keep changing.
I especially love photographing older and rarer aircraft — the legends of the skies like the Boeing 747, 757, or Airbus A340.  Many of them have already disappeared, and the few that are still flying are becoming increasingly rare. The A340s still operating here in Switzerland are among my favourite subjects; I try to capture them as often as possible and in every possible condition, knowing their days are numbered. Once they’re gone and scrapped, those moments can never be brought back — and that’s exactly what makes these photos so special.

Today, as twin-engine aircraft dominate the skies, the four-engine giants have become symbols of a fading chapter in aviation — and preserving their memory through my lens feels more important than ever.

Then, there’s my second love — landscape and travel photography. Exploring new places, capturing their unique light, wildlife, and cultures, keeps me inspired. Every photo tells a story, whether it’s a roaring jet or a beautiful sunrise.

Thank you for visiting my website! Feel free to explore my work, reach out for collaborations, or just say hello — I’d love to hear from you.

Cheers,
Luis
