While travelling across the red continent, I was lucky enough to catch Qantas’ last remaining 717 in Sydney – just a month before its official retirement.
Not long after, we landed at Uluru, where our plane from Brisbane baked under the blazing 40°C sun at Ayers Rock Airport.
Between these moments, I kept coming back to Brisbane – a city where Fokker 70s still roam the skies, long after disappearing from Europe.
